Subject Leader: Miss E Brady (on Maternity Leave)

Hello, my name is Miss Brady. My role as PE Subject Leader is to support the excellent provision of PE across the school, which take place in both indoor and outdoor spaces. In particular, I work with staff to ensure that our children are mastering basic movements including running, jumping, throwing and catching, as well as developing balance, agility and co-ordination.
This is in addition to pupils being encouraged to participate in team games and to develop simple tactics for being an effective team member. I also enjoy supporting the organisation of many hosted and external school sport events, which we actively participate in and work together as a team to achieve fantastic outcomes.

Physical Education is a diverse range of activities, creations, and expressions that are appealing or attractive to the senses or have some significance to the mind of an individual. The Arts are a valuable means of developing confidence, communication skills and facilitating expression, ideas and feelings. In addition, through purposeful, imaginative and creative activities pupils learn to take managed risks, trying out new ideas and new ways of working without fear of failure. Physical Education encourages the exploration of design ideas. Pupils can express what they know, understand and can do, through a variety of media and various forms of presentation. Pupils will learn about the place and role of art, craft and design in life today, as well as in different times and cultures. |
