Travel To School

The routes surrounding the school, particularly on the estate can be very congested and busy during the school run.   We have considerate, positive neighbours who are proud and supportive of school but from time to time they inevitably become frustrated when they feel we are not supporting them.

Where possible we prefer children and families to walk to school.  There are many benefits to this as can be seen here.

Where this isn’t possible we ask that:

  • Parents observe the rules of the road
  • Parents do not park across other people’s driveways or double park obstructing road access
  • Parents do not sit with motors running for long periods of time
  • Parents drive safely and with additional caution for those that are pedestrians

Children at St Nicholas are invited to walk and scoot to school.  We have adequate storage for bicycles and scooters in school.   We advise children wear helmets.   The benefits of this can be found here.

We also encourage parents to park and stride with their child from the car park where the local Codsall park is.   For more information about the benefits of this, please see here.
