School Meals

School Meals

Children may eat a school meal or bring sandwiches. School meals are prepared in school supported by Contract Catering with Chartwells.  Currently meals cost £3.20 per day. We have “special event” meals when all children are given the opportunity to join in.

Please see the following link with advice and tips on packing a healthy lunch box: Packing a Healthy Lunch Box

Free School Meal

Children in Reception, Year 1 & Year 2 are entitled to a free school meal each day through the Government’s Universal Infant Free School Meals scheme.

Pupil Premium

This extra funding to schools is only available when parents on low incomes, and who meet the Free School Meals criteria,  have registered a claim via the online application form. Therefore, even though the meals are free please read the leaflet entitled ‘Free School Meals’ and register if eligible. It is recommended that Reception new intake parents make a claim before the end of June of the year in which their child starts in order for funding to be made available to school in time for the start of the new academic year in September.  Parents should apply whether or  not their child eats a daily school lunch to qualify for this benefit.

The online application form is available at:-

NB Should you need help claiming this valuable funding for your child’s school, please see Miss Parker, your child’s class teacher or Mrs Kilvert in the school office who will be happy to support you confidentially.
