Uniform

St. Nicholas strongly promotes school uniform to foster a sense of pride and a sense of belonging.   Our children wear their tree logo with pride.

Uniform can be bought from Lads and Lasses formerly known as  Bradsports (Bilbrook Road, Bilbrook) or Crested Uniform Supplies (Wolverhampton town centre). Please click the links below to access their website for products available; to order online or for their contact/address details.

Uniform does not have to be branded, although we do think a school jumper or cardigan displaying the school logo is smart and helps children feel that they belong to the school.   Parents can choose to buy uniform from a range of stockists including supermarket brands.  We recognise that the cost of school uniform can be prohibitive and work well within DFE guidelines for uniform.

At St Nicholas we have a pre-loved uniform shop where donated uniform, often in very good condition, can be purchased for small amounts (£1-£2).  For more information about this please ask at the school office.   This is well used by families and helps when the inevitable school jumper gets lost from time to time!

Trainers

We understand that sometimes families find the cost of branded school jumpers prohibitive and cardigans.    It is acceptable that parents who need to, purchase unbranded items from other retailers (many supermarkets sell school uniform).   If any parents need support with school uniform please contact Miss Parker in confidence.    headteacher@st-nicholas.staffs.sch.uk 

Jewellery

For Health & Safety reasons the wearing of jewellery is not permitted. Simple stud earrings are the only exception to this rule and, if worn, must either be removed in the morning before school for P.E. lessons.  Please do not get your child’s ears pierced if they are not mature enough to manage taking them out and put them in themselves.    We advocate children who do have piercings to have them done only at the start of the 6 week holidays so that they have time to heal before returning to school and needing to take them out.
