The Rule of Law! – British Values (28.11.24)

28 Nov, 2023

This morning, children in KS2 had a visit from Danny, a solicitor advocate. He came to discuss with children about one of the fundamental British Values  – The Rule of Law. He explored with children the context of what The Law is, and how it relates to how a school operates through the rules it has in place, and how these rules are decided and governed. He then shared with how The Law is applied in society, including in his role as a solicitor advocate. The children were so very interested in how Danny carries out his role, with one of our children very luckily being nominated to wear his robes and wig!

We would like to extend a big thank you to Danny for his time and efforts in sharing something so important with our children; this relates back to our curriculum vision and aims of ensuring our children lead happy, healthy, and safe lives. A big well done to our children for being very sensible, engaged, and demonstrating our school values. As PSHE Leader at St Nicholas, Mrs Swan will also look to see how we can potentially invite and involve Danny for more opportunities and experiences such as today in the future.
