Provision for Nursery children at St Nicholas, within a newly extended and renovated state of the art classroom/outdoor space has a number of flexibilities for parents. Please see the relevant section to find out what the school can offer you.

The term after your child turns 3...

As long as we have space we are able to take your child in to our wraparound care facility for morning or afternoon sessions (sometimes all day) using government funded hours or at a cost to parents. If this is something that interests you please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. who will be able to guide you through this process.   Many of our Reception children begin their journey with us at St Nicholas in this way and the difference an early start makes is starting to really show academically and socially! Wraparound Care pupils are fully integrated into Nursery life.

School Nursery as parents have known it to be previously…

Children will be admitted to the Nursery Class part time, in September of the academic   year in which they become four.  Aside from the Wraparound Care pupils  (as mentioned above) we admit 2 classes of 26 pupils to access their 15 hours government funded education (one cohort in the morning, one in the afternoon) each day. Some families are entitled to 30 hours free Nursery funding and upon providing school with an eligibility code, children access a 30 hour session.

In and around the 15 hour and 30 hour sessions there is also an opportunity for parents to pay for additional childcare, before and after school, really to suit need between 7.30am and 6pm. If this is something you want to know more about, please ring the office on 01902842998 or email Lindsey Richards as above.

Please note a change for September 2018 intake – all applications for places must be received by the school office within the timescales listed to try and access a place for your child. To see the admissions criteria for this please see attachments below or call in and ask for a paper copy in the school office.
