Children with medical conditions, underlying health issues and low immunity

Our school risk assessment requires us to capture information about the school community to ensure that children and families are not put unnecessarily at risk of Covid-19 infection. As such we would ask parents to notify the school if their child has an impaired immune system or a medical condition that means they are vulnerable to infections.

We also need to know if your child has any underlying health conditions so that where required we can seek to ensure that we action the appropriate guidance in relation to managing your child and the risk of Covid-19.

If you think your child may be somebody we need to be notified about we would ask that you email Mrs Currall who is collating this information please at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with the email subject heading as such “Joe Bloggs Y4 Medical Condition”   We know we know children who have care plans and other such medical needs, I would ask that even these families re-notify us so that we have a fully up to date and complete list.

I attach links below to some DFE guidance that may support you in deciding whether to let us know, but if in doubt let us know anyway.
