Internet Safety Coffee Morning Parent Handout 07.02.19
Please find attached the Parent Handout from the Internet Safety Coffee Morning.
Safer Internet Day 2019
A big thank you to Mr Gough who provided a fabulous Internet Safety session with parents this week in school. The session was attended by a small number of parents who found it really valuable (see testimonials below). I will ask Mr Gough to re-run this in the future in the hope that more families access it. Mr Gough is a trained CEOPambassador (Child Exploitation Online Protection) and is here to support any parents with individual queries if ever they have them.
I attended the above workshop hosted by Mr Gough on the 5th February.
I found the presentation and content fabulous, Mr Gough talked us through the dangers of apps, games, privacy settings, new apps which are targeted at the teenage years, but also the positives on the internet and how it can enrich children’s learning and knowledge base.
I can’t thank you enough for providing this workshop for parents to discuss their own experiences and help others.
I highly recommend that all parents attend this or similar workshops as it was so beneficial to myself and the others parents who attended.
Just wanted to let you know how useful I found the meeting this morning and ask if you can pass on my thanks to Mr Gough for presenting the information to us.
Also thank you to the Year 3 children who demonstrated their skills on the Purple Mash website for us.
I really feel I came away from the session with a greater understanding of the potential risks but also useful advice in keeping my child as safe as possible when online.
